Seminar on Bioelectronic Interfaces and III Workshop on Cybernetic Vision
Information
about SIBGRAPI'98
Information
about the II Workshop on Cybernetic Vision

Introduction
The
group is primarily aimed at catalysing research and teaching activities on
the many aspects of natural and artificial vision through the collaboration
of research groups acting on related areas at the IFSC-USP and other Brazilian
and, eventually, international centres.
Research areas:
- Natural and artificial vision;
- Neuroscience;
- New techniques for computer vision and image processing;
- Concurrent computer architectures for vision and image
processing;
- Neural networks;
- Computational and mathematical modelling and simulation
of biological visual systems;
- Applications of biologically inspired computer vision
techniques;
- Neurophysiological research;
- Development of equipment and instrumentation for neuroscience;
- Performance assessment of computer vision and image processing
techniques.
- Researchers interested in collaborating with the Cybernetic
Vision Group should send the following data:
name, position, e-mail coordinates and references
to some of your latest representative publications in the area.
Some of the activities we intend to implement are
listed below:
- (i) - Implementation of an image database with copyright-free
material for assessment and benchmarking of computer vision and image processing
techniques;
- (ii) - Creation of the "Cybernetic Vision"
electronic journal to make full use of network and computational facilities
for manuscript assessment and delivery. Group members are encouraged to participate
with submissions and/or by acting as referees;
- (iv) - Establish an anonymous ftp area containing information
about the group activities and related material such as:
- - list of members and respective interest
fields;
- - list of related publications;
- - ASCII and/or Latex versions of papers
published by group members;
- - list of related bibliographical references;
- - summaries of ongoing projects;
- - programs and applicatives;
- - list of graduate and post-graduate
related courses and students.
